This video is inspired by some amazing crochet art by Olek. Olek was commissioned to cover the statue of Jan Karnski on NYC's Madison Avenue with her beautiful work. The art helps commemorate Karnski's heroic role in WWII, exposing the existance of Nazi concentration camps to the Allied forces. Jenavieve chose to serenade the statue with a song composed by Mieczysław Fogg, another WWII hero that was part of the Polish underground.
During this Midtown Dickens show at the Haw River Ballroom, I was called to stage for a guest appearance. Problem was, the request was totally unexpected and I didn't have my violin. That excuse didn't hold, however -- the venue owner took a decorative fiddle off the wall of their coffee shop. Turns out, that fiddle could actually hold a tune.
